CEC 2024 CALL FOR SPEAKERS

NGFA is accepting presentation proposals for CEC 2024, December 10 – 12, at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center.

We are looking to select three fresh, current, and imaginative 45-75-minute breakout sessions featuring interactive presentations, panels, or engaging workshops on the following topics:

  • HPAI – Avian Influenza
  • Merchandising tips and tricks
  • Emerging commodity markets 
  • OSHA heat rules
  • Regulatory issues with new administration
  • Insurance challenges/solutions
  • Generational differences in the workplace
  • Labor challenges/solutions
  • Automation/technology solutions to labor issues
  • Your topic of choice

Presenters are advised not to use their session as a platform for promotion of their products and services. Presenters found to be in violation of this request will not be selected in subsequent years. 

NGFA does not pay an honorarium for CEC breakout sessions. The speaker is responsible for all travel-related expenses.

NGFA will provide selected speakers one complimentary night at the CEC host hotel and full complimentary registration for the duration of the entire conference, including social events. Limit three presenters; additional presenters at their own expense.

  • August 23: Deadline for speaker applications 
  • September 20: Selected speakers notified by September 20, 2024
  • December 10-12: CEC 2024

Proposals will be reviewed by NGFA professional staff and the Business, Merchandising and Operations Committee (BMOC). The BMOC consists of members from all avenues of the grain industry with many years of industry experience. Each year the committee helps review, plan and evaluate NGFA’s education programming for CEC.

The selection process involves a review of every complete presentation application submitted prior to the deadline. All presentations are selected on the basis of the information submitted. Those submitting are expected to follow all instructions carefully and provide all requested information. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

If you are selected as a CEC speaker, you will be asked to submit materials and information in a timely manner. Conference speakers should understand the importance of meeting these deadlines. By submitting a presentation proposal, you are committing to your role in executing a successful conference. NGFA staff will review presentations to confirm they are meeting described session objectives and are appropriate for the designated learning levels. If there are any questions or concerns regarding the content, NGFA reserves the right to require that changes be made.
